Founded in 1632, the University of Tartu (UT) is Estonia's largest and most comprehensive university and one of the most respectable centres of education and research in Northern Europe. It belongs to the top 350 of the world's universities (see Rankings and Surveys). UT is home to 15,206 students, including 10% of international students from over 100 countries.
UT offers international degree and summer programmes with instruction in English, and each year, it attracts an increasing number of international students from around the world. Currently, there are 29 international study programmes fully in English, including business administration, medicine, software engineering, etc. Some of the university’s study programmes are truly unique, such as semiotics and philosophy.

Applications to international master’s studies can be submitted until 15 March, and applications to bachelor’s studies and integrated studies in Medicine until 15 April. However, there is one exception – the application deadline for the Erasmus Mundus joint master’s programme Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, coordinated by the University of Tartu, is 5 January.
